My step up to IT Manager has allowed me to enhance my leadership, planning, communication, and time management skills. I have planned and executed various projects and hold weekly meetings with other managers. Additionally, I continue to oversee the school's infrastructure and core services, which were a part of my previous role. Meanwhile, I am also training the IT Technicians to improve their technical knowledge and prepare them for taking on these responsibilities in the future.
- Line management and development of IT Technicians, providing support to other technicians across the trust.
- Leading projects from planning to completion, coordinating with suppliers and contractors.
- Creating automated processes via PowerShell and Google Apps Script to improve workflows, communication and efficiency of the school and wider Trust.
- Regular meetings with the Headteacher to discuss plans, current projects and concerns.
- Managing IT budgets to ensure effective spending and optimal resources for teaching and learning.
- Collaborating with the Trust's Regional IT Managers on shared projects, common issues and budgeting projects to help consolidate IT contracts across the Trust with the aim of reducing running costs of various services, i.e printing.
- Coordinating with the Trust's IT team to centralise the school's Windows domain, connecting over 15 schools.
- Supporting the implementation of new systems including research, planning and budgeting.
- Working with the school's Data Protection Lead to ensure documentation is up to date for staff and any breaches are investigated promptly and as in depth as possible.
- Creating up to date documentation for all IT Systems; including CCTV and automated gate entry setups, to provide guidance for the IT Technicians and other Trust staff to help with fault finding and delegating responsibility.
- Ensuring the school keeps up with Cybersecurity Essentials to ensure the security of the school's held data and the safeguarding of its students.
- Upkeep of the Trust wide filtering system Lightspeed. Making sure that change requests are investigated to ensure the safety of all users.
Senior IT Technician - Swale Academies Trust (The Sittingbourne School) - Sittingbroune, Kent

As a Senior IT Technician I took full responsibility in the smooth running of the school's IT Infrastructure, performing maintenance tasks where required. I was also responsible for the security of thousands of school owned devices which are used daily by its staff, students and visitors. This also included the internet filtering of these devices.
- Configuring and updating SCCM task sequences, app deployments, and Windows updates.
- Updating infrastructure documentation and maps for efficient troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Managing accounts, permissions, and policies using Windows AD, GPO, and Google Admin.
- Creating scripts with PowerShell and JavaScript to automate repeated tasks.
- Setting up and managing core network infrastructure including switches and fibre links.
- Managing VMWare hosts, standalone DPM servers and file storage solutions across multiple sites.
- Ensuring consistent backups of server and user files (local, offline, and off-site).
- Maintaining stable operation of the site-wide Ruckus WiFi system with 70+ Access Points.
- Maintaining the schools 3CX VOIP system.

During my two and a half years at The Sittingbourne School as an IT Technician I successfully worked towards an Google IT Support Certificate and improved many key skills which helped me improve my ability to provide technical support to our users. Some of these skills were; communication to users and 3rd party providers, initial steps to problem solving, technical skills and confidence.
- Keeping the Asset Database up to date with all the School's devices. (Laptops, Desktops, Phones, Chromebooks, Projectors, Interactive Screens, Switches, Hosts, Access Points)
- Providing support to over 1500 users via help desks, email and phone.
- Managing Windows AD and Google user accounts.
- Use of SCCM to build devices for staff or students and install any extra software or applications where required.
- Supporting users with Windows 10, Chrome and MacOS Operating Systems.
- Support the use of the full Google Education suite.
- Fast repair of broken devices.
