This job required me to talk to customers, take orders, prepare drinks and icecreams as well as clear tables and on occasion bake things to sell. This job gave me experience in multitasking along with dealing with busy and sometimes chaotic situations with a smile. I greatly improved my people skills whilst working here along with learning to deal with demanding customers in an effective yet polite manner.
Junk Monkey Theatre Company Teignmouth

For this job I helped out at a Saturday morning children’s theatre company, watching over and helping the children learn lines and block out scenes; For final productions I would be in charge of the music and lighting ensuring it all ran smoothly. This job required a knowledge of theatre and production along with an ability to look after large groups of young children. I helped with both their production of “Alice in Wonderland'' as well as a “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
For the technical side I had to be competent with the equipment in the booth and run through the cues for the entire production.
June 2022- December 2023 summer and Christmas seasonal:
As a Tea Mixologist, I have learnt to make and serve drinks both hot and cold as well as cocktails for ‘Lock Ins’. I’ve learnt Canadian-style customer service which focuses on the customer experience. I have to efficiently communicate to ensure the best possible service for the customer and make them feel welcomed and want to return to the store.
I’ve also done open and closing of the shop, cleaning, stock take, outside sampling and operation of an iPad based POS system. This job has greatly improved my confidence and understanding of front of house service, as well as developing the ability to move quickly between multiple tasks without losing focus or momentum. I've also had to familiarise myself with our full range of products and their relevant history so I can ensure customers find exactly what they're looking for.
