During my placement, I supported a range of HR and advisory projects, helping employers navigate complex issues such as ACAS communications, working time regulations, and potential tribunal claims. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Manager / Coronavirus test operative at NHS / Mitie Deeside (2020-06 – 2022-04)
As a PPE Manager, I oversaw a medium-sized team with a primary focus on the quantitative and, more importantly, qualitative manufacturing of Covid tests. Operating as a regional test site, we prioritised swift and efficient workflows due to the high volume of tests conducted daily. In addition to managing the production process, my responsibilities extended to inventory management, ensuring the availability of safety equipment to reduce contamination risks for staff, and overseeing mobile testing units, which were run by smaller teams.
I was also responsible for daily data analysis, ensuring accurate tracking of test results and operational efficiency. A critical aspect of my role was managing the compartmentalisation of biological and hazardous materials, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safe transport and disposal of test samples. This was crucial to prevent the spread of biohazards or any other harmful agents, ensuring the safety of both staff and the public.

As an ambulance crew member, it was imperative to remain calm and composed in critical situations while being both reactive and proactive to ensure optimal patient care. I started as an ambulance care assistant, which through hard work and great feedback from patients & peers, I was promoted to urgent care; this was more challenging as you are more observant of individuals who are physically ill and further sustain any deterioration in their health. Also, part of this role was the transportation of sectioned patients, who were categorised in risk evaluation, which determined the correct and safest method of transportation.
