I’m a pharmacist and independent prescriber; but my ambitions have always sat well outside the dispensary.

I’ve spent five years building clinical services, leading teams, and recently qualified as an independent prescriber at Masters level. That experience has given me a sharp understanding of how healthcare actually works on the ground. Now I want to use that from a different vantage point; whether that’s medical affairs, regulatory, product development, or a role where my prescribing expertise adds real value.

I founded a podcast interviewing leaders across pharma and healthcare. I’ve been on BBC and ITV representing the profession. The thread running through all of it is the same: I’ve never just wanted to do the job; I’ve wanted to understand and shape the bigger picture.

Pharmacist Manager at Carbis Bay Pharmacy (2023-12 – Present)

• Contributing to the Early Recognition of Cancer pilot in Cornwall, directly referring patients with potential cancer symptoms to GPs and secondary care; one of a small number of community pharmacies selected to participate in the pilot.
• Drove a 26% increase in clinical service uptake; including private PGDs in weight loss management; through strategic patient engagement, staff training, and workflow optimisation.
• Implemented and operationalised NHS and ICB-commissioned services including Pharmacy First, Private PGDs, and Cornwall Walk-in, adapting clinical frameworks to local context and feeding back service improvement insights to commissioners.
• Initiated the Stop Smoking service and coordinated staff first aid training, identifying gaps in the pharmacy's clinical offer and coordinating delivery from the ground up.
• Led recruitment, onboarding, and competency assessment of multidisciplinary vaccinators during seasonal campaigns; developed training resources and coordinated workforce deployment across sites, increasing vaccination capacity to approximately 80 per day.
• Delivered Outcomes4Health and BP monitoring training to internal staff and external vaccinators, signing off one team member in clinical delivery and ensuring accurate recording of vaccination activity across clinic sites.
• Designed and delivered structured mentoring and training programmes for dispensing staff and technicians; supervised one staff member to successful dispenser qualification, with two further trainees currently progressing towards dispenser and technician qualifications respectively.
• Established staff and patient feedback mechanisms to embed continuous improvement into service delivery and operational planning.

Pharmacist at Bodriggy Pharmacy (2022-01 – Present)

• Collaborated with the superintendent pharmacist to review and update SOPs, ensuring regulatory compliance and consistent team performance.
• Led, managed, and developed pharmacy team performance, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and patient-centred care.
• Led end-to-end recruitment of a pharmacy technician trainee; from CV screening and interviewing through to onboarding onto a structured training course; now qualified as a pharmacy technician and accuracy checking technician (ACT).
• Built and maintained effective working relationships with GPs, PCN pharmacists, and primary care stakeholders; providing evidence-based advice and supporting service integration across organisational boundaries.
• Demonstrated adaptability by rapidly onboarding new PMR systems and operational processes, maintaining service continuity during periods of change.

Provisionally Registered Pharmacist at Regent Pharmacy (2021-10 – 2021-12)

• Delivered a broad range of NHS clinical services including Emergency Hormonal Contraception, supervised consumption, NMS, vaccination, and CPCS.
• Reduced patient waiting times by 20% by redesigning staff delegation and supervision structures, improving operational efficiency without compromising clinical safety.
• Represented the pharmacy profession as a media spokesperson on BBC and ITV, communicating pharmacist-led vaccination and the Desogestrel POM-to-P switch clearly for public audiences.

• Completed hospital rotations across aseptics, quality assurance, medicines information, dispensary, AMU, Stroke, and ENT; consolidating broad clinical knowledge across care settings.
