Mia Stephenson

I am currently a master's student at the University of Edinburgh studying in the Marine Systems and Policies program. During my undergraduate studies at the University of Birmingham, I identified a gap in microplastic research and went on to investigate human exposure to microplastics through tap water. My practical work in the field and the laboratory expanded my skills in critical analysis, valid hypotheses development, problem-solving and time management.

I hope to expand my knowledge of microplastics in the marine sciences and challenge myself by investigating the political side. My interests are environmental policy, marine conservation, ocean pollution, waste management and microplastic research.
