Delivery manager/duty manager - Selco builders warehouse

I started back at Selco in November 2022 in the role of delivery manager/ duty manager. I aim gaining new skills and responsibility. I currently manage the transport team, ensuring that all deliveries are made on schedule and arranging the best routes and delivery times.
Within my team, I am responsible for the staff pickers, and overseeing that they supply the correct items for each delivery. My next task is to ensure that the trucks are checked off in the mornings and are appropriate for the correct delivery. Downloading drivers' cards and making sure that no infringements have accrued in their driving week, is a weekly assignment to myself to make sure that company policy and procedures are being meet by my drivers.
It is my practice that I have drivers' meetings weekly and monthly meeting with my pickers. This is not only for updating important information and making sure we have good communication within the team, but also to listen and make sure we have a happy work environment. I must also organize repairs and services for the trucks to make sure that they are road worthy and are safe for both my drivers and customers.

12 years ago, I began working in the factory industry. I worked my way up to the position of Senior team leader within Polypipe, I was responsible for the running of the factory production, a team of employees, and the operation of the machinery.
Club Manager - Horncastle Golf Club

I began working at horncastle Golf Club as the Club Manager. My role here was to oversee the day to day running of the club. I was responsible for the bar staff, kitchen staff and maintenance staff. This employment only lasted for 1 year as my employer sold the business, so I returned to work at my previous employment at Polypipe.
Goods in foreman / Heavy side foreman - Selco Builders Warehouse

I began working at selco in the goods in department, unloading and checking all stock. Within one year i was promoted to goods in foreman, and was asked to go to another store to train their staff and sort out there goods in department to a standard that was expectable. when i returned back to my store I applied for a new challenge in the heavy side department as foreman. In the heavy side department my role as foreman was to make sure that my team was working in a correct manner, keeping the shelfs filled with the correct material, making sure that health and safety was conducted efficiently, reporting back to my line manager and stock taking for ordering.
Landscaping/Farm maintenance - Bramble lodge landscaping
This was a change of path for myself, and a chance to gain experience working outside. Being responsible for the general upkeep of a busy working farm, and it's grounds. I have been Maintaining the farm for approx a year now, including created a Japanese garden and many other projects.
