Oxfam (Newcastle Office) Role: Finance Assistant – Work Experience Placement

Outline

1 week work experience with the Finance team at Oxfam (Newcastle Office).

Key responsibilities

During my time at Oxfam, I assisted the finance team and learnt about their processes for:

• recording weekly takings from over 400 shops around the UK.
• Processing gift aid claims stage 1 and 2. 
• Updating Oxfam’s accounting system NAV live and Access database 
• Processing mail

Pink Boutique Ltd Role: Finance Assistant – Work Experience Placement

Outline

1 week work experience with the Finance team at Pink Boutique in Newburn.

Key responsibilities

• Processing purchase invoices on their MFP accounting system
• Processing payments on the Bank portal
• Helping their warehouse team process orders and stock 
• Learning about merchandising reports with their buying team

• Assisting the Accounts manager in her daily reporting tasks
• Accurately processing a large volume of purchase invoices
