I have good communication skills and experience in dealing directly with customers, from the quotation stage through to the packing and delivery. As a highly motivated person, I am used to working long hours to meet tight delivery schedules, motivating my workforce around me to do the same.

I enjoy the ongoing aspect off learning new skills and new products. I have been designing and manufacturing fixtures and fittings to aid manufacturing on all types off machines for the last 30 years. I have always been a hands-on manager, leading by example on the shop floor.

I enjoy the training and mentoring aspect of the job, passing on my experience and skills to tradesmen and to apprentices. I was involved with other local businesses in the setting up and advisement to West Lothian Collage’s (Livingston) training program, for all day release students studying towards a Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering. I have 35 years of engineering experience most of which has been within the oil and gas industries.

I have extensive Knowledge of most components, how they are produced and what these clients are looking for. I have worked on projects for the following companies: Cooper Cameron Flow Control, Halliburton, FMC, Baker oil Tools and National Oilwell Varco to name a few. I have 35 years of experience in all forms of inspection equipment, including calculations required for using various measuring aids for example gauge maker calculations for most oil industry threads, ring grooves and sealing surfaces, I have extensive knowledge in producing final documentation to meet clients BOM requirements, including FAIRs and 100%-dimensional reports NDT reports, material certification, hardness and heat treatment certification etc.

I have also held NDT qualifications ASNT Level 2 for dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection for about 30 years. Experienced in BS5750 ISO9001, 14001 & 18001, AS9102, and set a very high standard in Health and safety awareness.
