I have organised and volunteered at several Christian women's events and book club gatherings. I was responsible for managing a client's household, health, and nutritional needs. My daily duties included supporting exercise routines, assisting with personal care, preparing meals, administering medication on time, and ensuring overall comfort and safety. I monitored clients for bruises, marks, or any sudden changes in their physical or mental health and reported concerns promptly.
I also engaged clients in activities within their home to keep them entertained and emotionally stimulated, according to their preferences. Providing compassionate care during end-of-life support was an important part of my role, including offering mouth care, emotional reassurance, and maintaining dignity and comfort. With my last client, it was especially important to provide meaningful entertainment because she was housebound and deaf.
I encouraged her daughters to purchase a DVD player so she could watch films she enjoyed, which greatly increased her happiness and quality of life. During this role, I learned sign language and achieved a certification to improve communication with my clients, as I always strive to meet their individual needs in the best possible way.
