My passion for Computer Science truly began in 2019, at the beginning of high school; however, my journey actually began throughout primary school - aided by applications such as Bee-Bot and Purple Mash. Since then, my enthusiasm has only grown. It resulted in me exploring several programming languages, and libraries, independently of further development my skills.

Through independent learning, I have enhanced my skills beyond the curriculum level such as in languages like Python and Lua. I have also gained an understanding in languages such as Rust, JavaScript (JS), PHP, HTML, and more. The impact of the boom of Artificial Intelligence has only motivated me more to deepen my understanding of the subject and the real-world applications of it.

Software Engineer - Waters Corporation - Wilmslow, Cheshire

At the beginning of summer, I had taken a one week work experience opportunity at Waters Corporation, allowing me to receive first hand experience on everything Software. During my time there, I had covered and gained insightful knowledge from industry experts and experiences in the following:

• Front-end Development: I had experienced the role of a front-end developer using the Angular framework.
• Back-end Development: I had experienced the role of a back-end developer using Rust.
• Full-stack Development: I had experienced the combination of both front- and back-end development using C# and the Angular framework.
• DevOps: Using several professional tools, such as GitHub, Confluence, and Jira, I had experienced how to manage the workflow of Software Developers and create GitHub Actions to create automated testing to enhance reliability and security of the repository. This also included building tools.
• Software Testing: I had experienced the importance of Quality Assurance and the fundamental role it plays in Software. This is where I had viewed automated testing created by DevOps and used unit testing.
• In addition to the roles of Software, I had also gained an understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its link to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, being shown examples of its use from Hackathon which had taken place at Waters a week prior.
• Finally, another important piece of information I had learnt about the sector was how Waters uses the Agile methodology in their day-to-day operations. This includes participating in daily check-ins with their teams to understand the progress of their tasks and utilising techniques such as paired programming and mobbing to always achieve the best possible outcome.
