Milly Bruce

I am in my last year of university, studying Psychology with Neuroscience at the University of Sussex. I have experience in qualitative and quantitative research, coding, evaluation and teamwork. Currently I am working on my dissertation, which is focused on qualitative research surrounding autism in infants.

I have plenty of work experience in the public sector in hospitality jobs, as I have worked in both pubs and cafes. Currently I work at Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Front of House (2023-present) (part-time whilst studying) in The Hub, which is the primary restaurant for Mercedes F1 staff and visitors. Given the prestigious client premises, customer facing skills must be impeccable.

We regularly greet and serve VIP visitors to the site, and I provide high-end hospitality often for VIP guests. I help to complete stock-take and am overall involved in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the restaurant as part of a small team which provides around 1,000 covers per day.

University of Sussex, Falmer – Bsc Psychology with Neuroscience

September 2023 – June 2026

• I am in my third year of studying at the University of Sussex, completing my degree in Psychology with Neuroscience. I have consistently been scoring at a 2:1 level, but in my third year have been receiving grades consistently between 70-100%. I am particularly interested in my developmental and autism modules, but also enjoy the different challenge of my neuroscience modules. My dissertation is looking at motor milestones as predictors of social abilities in infants, and whether this differs in children at a high versus low risk for autism. Throughout my third year, I have completed lab work with my supervisor, engaged in brain dissections and attended workshops on autism.
