I am a motivated, compassionate, and dependable individual, naturally gravitating towards helping vulnerable people in need of support mentally, emotionally, or physically. After recently completing my MSc in Clinical Psychology, I wish to apply my knowledge of psychological disorders by helping individuals experiencing poor mental health, learning disabilities, and further neurological disorders. My goal in life is to one day become a Clinical Psychologist, and I am eager to further my comprehension of psychological disorders through working alongside established professions within a clinical setting, assisting with mentoring, psychological assessments, interventions, and multidisciplinary team work.
Some of my skills and attributes include:
I have gained 6 years of experience working within the care sector including residential homes, and supported living. Within these roles I supported individuals facing a variety of mental health issues e.g. anxiety, depression, agoraphobia, neurodevelopment disorders such as dementia, schizophrenia, autism, down syndrome, as well as alcohol-related brain damage. I have worked alongside companies such as Pobl, NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service), and most recently, Teacher Active; whereby I provide 1:1 support for children and young people experiencing a range of learning needs and challenging behaviour; in an innovative, malleable, holistic manner, to increase engagement and significantly improve the attitude of their learning excursion
