• Implement Student Union initiatives aimed at improving student learning experience at ULaw

Head of English Language Unit at MARA Junior Science College (MJSC) Boarding School System (Jan 2020 – June 2023)

Alongside teaching, my role included managing operational aspects of the English Unit, such as timetabling, resource management, and budgeting, reporting progress on a monthly basis to the Head of the Language Department.

• Led a team of 6 English teachers in designing course outlines, teaching content and implementation plans while creating Unit strategies that aligned with the school's annual KPIs and exam targets
• Collaborated with colleagues on CPD opportunities by allocating yearly up-skilling programmes based on prior trainings completed, certification level and availability to attend programs
• Appointed as Secretary to Parent-Teacher Association of MJSC Alor Gajah, which involved handling membership data records and producing all documents pertaining to administration of organization
• Received 'Excellence in Service Award' from MARA HQ for the year 2022
• Awarded recognition for being part of the top 3% of teachers in-service who achieved CEFR C2 Mastery grade in British Council Advanced English APTIS Online Test in 2023

Senior Teacher @ MJSC Alor Gajah at MARA Junior Science College (MJSC) Boarding School System ( March 2016 – Dec 2019)

As teacher and Course Leader, I re-structured the course outline for both Cambridge IGCSE syllabus as well as the Malaysian syllabus, incorporating verified teaching techniques and classroom practices geared for exam success.

• Served as Homeroom Advisor to 30 students across 2 cohorts, supporting their overall well-being, creating team-building and leadership tasks, managing funds, and supervising activities like trips and meal prep
• Served as editor within MJSC Quality Control initiatives to review National Mock IGCSE ESL Exam materials

Junior Teacher @ MJSC Terendak Camp at MARA Junior Science College (MJSC) Boarding School System (Feb 2011 – Feb 2016)

In this role, I designed and delivered 30 hours of weekly English lessons for Malaysian English syllabus, catering to 5 assigned classes of approximately 30 students across years 7 to 11. I also contributed as an English tutor in numerous community outreach tuition programs with the Malaysian Armed Forces in Terendak base, Malacca.

• Conducted needs analysis assessments, created student-centred learning resources and provided personalised feedback to enhance student academic achievement
• Served as Homeroom Advisor to 15 students, providing coping strategies to adjust to boarding school life, organising various homeroom excursions and developing personalised school career progression pathways
• Served as Warden in Female Student Dorms which included counselling students during challenging time like exam season or loss of parent, conducting weekly safety and hygiene inspections and chairing dorm meetings
• Co-organizer of EdCamp Malaysia 2015, a free participant-driven conference with a primary focus on development for K-12 educators with UniTAR and Google for Education
• Created the Audio+book project, collaborating internationally to produce companion audio materials for RIC Comprehension Box materials as intervention for students with low English proficiency
• Recognized as Top 30 Best English Teachers in MJSC system based on EPT scores, subsequently trained to be an English Master Trainer within MJSC schools

Residential Assistant at Huia Residence, Grafton Road at The University of Auckland (Jan 2008 – Dec 2008)

In this role, I assisted with the day-to-day operations of university accommodation, including check-ins, maintenance requests, security rounds and signposting student inquiries related to accommodation.

• Served as Floor Leader and Fire Warden during Fire Evacuation drills
• Provided support and guidance to residents, fostering a safe and inclusive living environment
