The opportunity of site management for the construction industry gave me the chance to progress away from a vocation I had worked in for nearly two decades and completed everything. Taking my knowledge of safety and a lifetime of coming from a family involved in construction the move to site management was a logical one to give me the challenge of tackling a whole multitude of areas that would take advantage of logistical, computer, and people skills.

Overall responsibility for planning and organising site activities and sequencing of works, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and labour. Managing site logistics (access, storage, deliveries, plant movement).
Introduction of GPS tracking to compiling all steel frame parts from a laydown area and plan with excel data sheets, leading to build packs. Holding daily briefings and/or toolbox talks, resolving operational problems that arise on site ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. Conducting risk assessments and method statement reviews while carrying out site safety inspections and managing incident reporting investigations whilst ensuring appropriate PPE and training.

Manheim duties becoming the accredited training source for the BVRLA (British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association) designing the training material and delivering this UK wide.
