Sales Assistant - TG Jones (Formally known as WHSmith's)

As a sales assistant in a busy town store, I am responsible for ensuring all stock is displayed appropriately and regularly checking for any gaps. My duties include scanning magazines for returns, serving customers efficiently, and consistently monitoring impulse (confectionery) product dates to manage depreciation accurately. I also participate in the annual store audit, which involves conducting a comprehensive stock count and calculating losses.

Due to the small size of the store, occasionally I work independently, mainly during mid-shifts from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm, often covering closing duties. These responsibilities include securing tills and keys in the safe, preparing papers for return, and ensuring the store is fully restocked and that the shop floor is cleaned. I then make sure all doors are locked, and the alarm is set this enables an easy start for my colleagues the following morning.

Barista - Costa Coffee - Princes Risborough

During my time as a Barista at Costa Coffee, my primary responsibilities included taking customer orders and expertly preparing a wide range of hot and cold drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and iced blended beverages. I operated various kitchen equipment including blenders, coffee machines, and ovens for preparing hot food items. Cleanliness was always essential, I ensured utensils and dishes were washed, dried, and fully stocked up, tables were cleared promptly, floors were swept regularly, and toilets were cleaned according to schedule.

Throughout each shift, I prioritised customer satisfaction, consistently providing friendly service and responding promptly to every guest's needs.

Healthcare Assistant (HCA) - NHS – Stoke Mandeville Hospital

As a Healthcare Assistant, I was responsible for organising patient notes according to appointment schedules, ensuring all clinic rooms were cleaned and prepared between patients, and providing chaperone support when requested. My duties also included recording patient observations, monitoring patient welfare, updating clinic times, and registering patients into the database for follow-up appointments as necessary. While working in this role, I acquired knowledge relevant to human health and encountered a variety of scenarios.

The environment was diverse and fast-paced, which contributed to the development of my professional skills, sense of structure, and confidence in the position. During my time in this role I worked in many different areas encountering many patients with mental health and physical health disabilities in which I would aid in helping the individual locate their clinic whilst ensuring they are in the right place and assist with any questions or enquiries to the best of my knowledge and ability.

Barista/Waitress - The Potting Shed Café - Askett Nurseries, Askett

Responsible for taking customer orders, washing dishes, cleaning tables, sweeping and mopping the floor, delivering food and drinks to tables, and preparing a variety of coffees and teas. Developed strong hospitality and customer service skills by ensuring customer satisfaction, supporting kitchen operations during peak hours by maintaining a clean workspace for the chef, and gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. I unfortunately discovered the business had closed back in 2020.
