Monday Lerner

Monday Lerner is 18 years old and is a freshman at Goldsmiths, University of London. They are hardworking, open minded, and excited to learn. They have experience in writing and being a camp counselor.

They have leadership experience and do good working with others. They are passionate about learning to work as a team and about expanding their skills past what they can already accomplish. They are a problem solver and whenever a problem arises, they always make an effort to help.

They would be committed to doing an excellent job and forming bonds while doing so. Working in business settings, and solving problems in creative ways, is a strength of theirs that they are committed to expanding and developing as they grow.

Volunteer Radio Presenter at Essex Estuary Radio (Present)

I host a radio show from 2-6pm (it is pre-planned and does not have to be done in real time) every Saturday and Sunday on Essex Estuary Radio. I play songs, add commentary, and try to make all listeners feel welcome.

Internship at Record Store at Generation Records (2025-04 – 2025-06)

In my senior year, at Scarsdale High School, we had an internship program. We had to reach out to a business, and work for them for free for six weeks. I emailed Generation Records and they generously agreed to let me intern there.

• I learned how to stack CD's, organize posters and t-shirts, clean the store (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming), and the general mechanics of working in a record store.

Sales Associate at Cole Haan (2025-02 – 2025-04)

I worked as a sales associate at Cole Haan. I helped sell shoes, and maintain store organization and cleanliness.

Creative Writing Teacher at Scarsdale Public Library (2024-07 – 2024-08)

I taught middle schoolers how to write creative writing and how to structure stories. I assembled this curriculum with another person, and we were both presidents of the Creative Writing Club/Collective at our place of education.

Summer Camp Counselor at Little People At Work Preschool (2023-08 – 2023-08)

I was an assistant summer camp counselor for nearly two weeks. This camp was mainly for children 6-12 and I helped supervise general activities and off campus activities.

• We did both off campus and on campus activities, such as zip lining, baking, and reading.
• I learned how to lead, while also learning to work as a team.
• The experience increased my patience and developed skills to help manage tough situations and conflict.
