Moving to Halifax and starting Halifax hounds was the next big step for me as this time I have moved on from just being a manager, to being a co-owner of this new business, again specialising in the production of raw dog food. As a smaller business we currently operate at a 2 staff capacity including myself. This current situation means I have had to adopt far more responsibilities continuing production and dealing with customer facing at the front desk.

Even though it means I have more tasks I have still been able to keep up with all that is required of me including having to take and manage large order requests from long standing clients then leading to the distribution of our products.

My career at McKennel supplies, started by my father and being predominantly family run alongside our other employees, is where I learned many skills with hands on experience allowing me to eventually become a manger. I mainly took position on the production side of the business, specialising in the process of making raw dog food.

• Managing staff, ensuring constant and efficient production as well as adhering to health and safety regulations due to working with industrial machinery such as mincers and bagging machines
• Due to the nature of the business and the type of product we sold to the public, as a team we had to make sure we were consistently in line with Defra standards and regulations to ensure we could pass regular inspections to maintain our license and continue to be a successful business

Dog Grooming Assistant - HainsWoofs - Bradford City Centre, West Yorkshire

During my time as a dog grooming assistant, my responsibilities included, washing and drying dogs in preparation for their grooming treatments. I also manned the front desk on a customer facing basis taking care of walk-ins and phone calls regarding care treatments and bookings on top of handling payments.
