Following a promotion, I was given the role to supervise other staff members on the yard. General duties and responsibilities included:
- Providing front-line support to those customers ordering building materials.
- Using manual handling equipment and/or forklift trucks (as required) to load and unload customer, company, and supplier vehicles in a timely manner.
- Keeping stock flowing through the operation and in great condition.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment to maximise the efficiency of the service and ensure safety standards never dropped.

Following another inhouse promotion, I was transferred into the shop to learn other general duties and responsibilities similar as above. This role was more sales based inside the shop. I then learned the tool hire side of the builders merchants, which made me have knowledge in all aspects of the job.
