During my time at school, I went to work with my dad on the weekends, assembling high security locks. I used hand tools such as screwdrivers, allen keys, pliers, rivet guns, and mallets as well as power tools such as drills.
General Labourer - Refurbishment project with a carpenter

My role in this was a general labourer. I helped put up stud walls and installed insulation. I then installed plasterboard and ensured the surface was ready to be plastered. To do these jobs I used tools such as drills, jigsaws, chop saws, multitools, spirit levels, handsaws, and tape measure. Also, while doing this, I made sure the area was always clean and tidy.

I dug out a troth and installed cattle grid drains, moved and levelled 4 tonnes of sand, stone, and soil, built the frame for decking, installed the boards and painted the boards with a weather shield paint, put up a fence and built a retaining wall. I used multiple power and hand tools.

At sale exterior I cleaned roofs, driveways, and patios mainly with a powerful petrol pressure washer but occasionally cleaned render and walls with chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite. I also cleared gutters using a vacuum and poles/ladders. At the end of each job, I had to ensure there was no mess left by rinsing everywhere and clearing up the street.
While at this company I learned how to deal with customers and significantly improved my customer service skills, encountering multiple customers each day. I used equipment such as a pressure washer, gutter vacuum, leaf blower, electric sprayer, brushes, and spades.
Grounds Maintenance Worker - Exterior property management

I was working for a family friend, maintaining the ground of a block of flats. I ensured it was always tidy, getting rid of the weed, keeping the grass and bushes maintained, and making sure the drains are kept clear. This kept the tenants satisfied with the exterior of the property.

Production Operative / Assembly Worker - Garrett advanced motion

I am currently working at Garrett disassembling / refurbishing turbo chargers and salvaging as many parts as possible once dismantled on tear down it moved onto a degreaser then after they they all need to be bolted up and sand blasted and sent next door to be assembled. I have also worked assembling turbos on the gm line where they need to be put together and calibrated using multiple machines. To do this job you need to be good at spotting the smallest of faults/ damages so they don't get sent back.
On a day to day I use lots of different tools and equipment for example drills, hammers, chisels, spanner's and lots more being careful that I do t damage the parts I am taking apart.
