Whilst completing my degree studies, I moved with the general manager from Iberica to form part of the opening team of a brand-new Mediterranean restaurant in Covent Garden. In my role as head waiter, I trained new staff to deliver consistent high-quality service with a strong focus on attention to detail ensuring everyone met the standards expected on the floor. Working closely as part of a team is something I genuinely enjoy, and this role strengthened my ability to support others to keep service running smoothly.
We partnered with the neighbouring Club Quarters hotel to manage their food and beverage department and were trusted to meet the requirements of their guests. I take great satisfaction from delivering high standards of customer service and creating a sociable, enjoyable dining experience for guests. This commitment is reflected in some excellent online reviews by customers who enjoyed themselves and appreciated the service and care they received.
As part of my Jazz music degree course requirements, I was able to establish a recurring jazz evening in the restaurant. I managed and performed in the house band, booking musicians and helping to promote and develop the regular Friday jazz nights. These events became extremely popular, with many customers returning or specifically booking to attend the jazz evenings.
