Setting and operating the machines which include LaserLab Profiling machine, Fanuc Robodrill machine centre and a Lumsden Grinder. Drew up customer drawings on to the company CAD system, download the file into the machine controller on the shop floor then edit/input data. Then set the machine up ensuring a quality component is produced, inspection reports are completed with all first off components and through various times in the production depending on batch size. With the Fanuc Robodrill mainly set tools and edit data in proven programmes i.e. reference points, start positions etc. Some jig and work holding device designing is also a task undertaken. Finally, the Lumsden grinding consists of grinding various parts to a number of different tolerances and surface finishes. Also completed a few minor MIG welding jobs. All work is completed to tight tolerances and customer deadlines.
Components and consulting with office staff to arrange deliveries/collections, and general housekeeping are other tasks completed.
Preparation Team at Audio Visual Commodity's (2010-05 – 2011-05)
Audio Visual Commodity's is a DJ equipment online store. As they deal in ex-demo, ex-display and B stock goods, all items require a full test. It is my job to conduct extensive testing on items such as turntables, mixers, lighting equipment and many other products, before they are sold to the consumer. This is to ensure the product is fully working and guarantee customer satisfaction. After testing then input customer details into the computer system and despatch the product.
Miller, Machinist at AEW Delfords (2007-12 – 2009-06)
Making a variety of parts for a range of equipment manufactured and sold by Delfords. Operating milling machines to complete jobs. Using lathes, surface grinders, radial drills, and a variety of hand tools to complete jobs to drawing specifications.
Machining aluminium and stainless steel, although some brass and plastic jobs were completed. Machine maintenance tasks i.e. checking oil levels, coolant levels and greasing were conducted on a weekly basis. Working as part of a team on a daily basis and also working to deadlines and strict Health and Safety regulations.

As a General Machine Operator, training within the company for NVQs in Performing Engineering Operations and Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing. Studying for C & G Level 2 in Applying Engineering Principals. Working on a laser cutting machine, programming, and setting up the machine on a daily basis and working directly with the production manager.
