About

I am a highly skilled support worker with ten years experience supporting the young and the elderly. I am passionate about making a positive difference to people's lives and contribute to the success of the team. Being an empathetic and compassionate individual with great communication skills, patience, attention to detail and physical stamina means that I am positioned to add value to the company.

Experience

I am currently working as a private nanny, looking after a baby aged 18 months old, creating a safe and stimulating environment, bathing and dressing up the baby, changing diapers and potty training, being in charge of the laundry services, preparing meals and feeding the baby, and arranging outings with the baby. I have worked with many babies and young children over the last ten years.

I also worked as a support worker ( self employed) from 2007 until now, for the elderly, providing outstanding care,and using a person centred approach to understand each person ‘s circumstances. I was responsible for the day to day care of my service users, ensuring their wellbeing, preparing meals according to their specific care plan, ensuring that food hygiene procedures were strictly followed. I also took them shopping, organising outings and daily activities which enabled them to be involved in their normal life and enjoy their day.

I was also involved in the general housekeeping duties, ensuring the cleanliness of the home. I booked and escorted service users to their appointments, supported the most vulnerable individuals with moving and handling, enabling them to remain independent. I dealt with patients ’concerns, making referrals to other members of the multi- disciplinary team when necessary, documenting their health and wellbeing as well as daily activities and incidents occurring.
