During a placement with Balfour Beatty, I had the opportunity to shadow Human Resources and Procurement, as well as Finance, where I observed team meetings focusing on budgeting. I was also fortunate to develop my Excel skills, enabling me to compare company datasets using look-up formulas.

The day consisted of various presentations on the different departments within the Lloyds Bank Group. I was fortunate to listen to talks focusing on the different career options, including apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships and graduate roles. There were also opportunities to network with colleagues, tour the premises and immerse myself in team-building activities throughout the day.
Rise Up: Women in business and finance - Queen Mary, University of London

Alumni of the university were welcome to speak about their experiences at university and beyond. The talks entailed life at Queen Mary, opportunities to enhance a financial portfolio and the various industries and roles that can be pursued as a graduate. We were then fortunate to network with the guest speakers, current undergraduate students and members of faculty.

This three-day programme enabled me to gain insight into Audit, Consulting and Tax, where I immersed myself in interactive activities that delved into how the various lines of business align. I was grateful to also receive advice on how students can excel in application processes as well as in the role itself.
Administrative assistant - London Southeast Colleges - LSEC Bromley Campus

During my one-week placement at LSEC Bromley Campus, I undertook several administrative tasks, including the organisation of office documentation and administrative records. I was also responsible for handling telephone and in-person enquiries with professionalism and efficiency. I further offered my support with general office operations and assisted with clerical tasks, thus ensuring smooth day-to-day liaison between staff, students and external visitors.
Bharathanatyam assistant teacher - Salangai Natham

Having completed my diploma in Bharathanatyam, I now support my dance teacher by leading weekly sessions. My role entails assisting the planning and delivery of dance lessons, encouraging creativity and engagement among students. I begin each session by leading the stretching exercises to prevent injury, before analysing and providing constructive feedback on movement throughout the lesson.
When liaising with my supervisor, I will provide a thorough overview of the lesson, including the progress made by students, and I am also responsible for relaying similar feedback to parents.
