SEN Teaching Assistant (2022-present)

Work with a teacher and a team of other assistants to provide a stimulating and nurturing academic environment to students with special educational needs. Tasks include:

• Creating and facilitating group activities
• Implementing personalised learning and behavioural strategies alongside OTs and SLTs
• Providing 1:1 support to particularly challenging pupils
• Guiding students to reach their individual EHCP targets for the year
• Providing tools for communication, independence and emotional regulation
• Gathering and reporting information to parents/SENCOs to monitor pupil progress
• Providing clerical and administrative support, ensuring all processes adhere to school guidelines
• Administering first aid when required

Looked after a 4-year-old for over a year. This experience helped improve my patience, compassion and ability to enforce routine. Tasks included:

• Providing safety , care and academic assistance
• Ensuring the child remained happy and motivated
• Encouraging social and behavioural skills
• Fostering independence and communication skills
• Providing transportation to various extra-curriculars o Producing activities for purposeful play

My contract was project-dependent. I was called in mostly for high-intensity international projects. Tasks included:

• Setting up and using various sets of equipment for data collection o Capturing, reporting and analysing data
• Supervising groups for in-person product testing
• Recruiting necessary individuals to take part in studies
• Conducting telephonic interviews
• Managing client database and keeping files up to date o Providing administrative support in all areas

Retail taught me multiple skills involving customer care, target achievement and up-selling. It required a detailed knowledge of product ingredients and their benefits. Tasks included:

• Customer assistance
• Stock management
• Visual merchandising
• Product demonstrations o Training new employees
