I am a hardworking, caring and reliable school leaver who has recently completed Year 11 at The Hart School in Rugeley. I have been accepted onto the Animal Care course at Rodbaston College, where I am looking forward to developing my knowledge and practical skills. I have a genuine passion for animals and have gained valuable hands-on experience during my work experience at a veterinary practice.

I am enthusiastic, eager to learn and enjoy working as part of a team while providing the highest standard of care for animals.

Work Experience Placement - Donnachie & Townley Veterinary Practice - Rugeley

During my work experience, I worked alongside the veterinary team in a busy veterinary practice and gained valuable practical experience caring for animals. I watched many surgical procedures Including dental work and a spay, it didn't deter me at all, if anything it has increased my passion.

• Assisting with the care of animals before and after operations.
• Helping to keep animals calm and comfortable during recovery.
• Cleaning and preparing recovery areas.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Following health and safety and infection control procedures.
• Observing veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons during their daily work.
• Sitting in on patient consultations and learning how to talk professionally to owners with empathy.
• Helped with reception by receiving patients and logging them in.
• Working professionally as part of a team.
• Treating every animal and person with kindness, patience and compassion.
