I have worked in many of different situations with the hotel industry and I am very good at keeping everything calm when under pressure, I am very good at leading a team and making sure everything runs smoothly within the team.
I always put the customers' needs first and do my best to satisfy their needs.

In this job i have many different roles, mainly answering a busy switchboard and taking hotel reservations as well as greeting guests, checking guests in and out and dealing with their queries, Making reservations and cash handling. In this job it is important to be polite as you are making the first example of the hotel when the guests arrive. I Found this job quite interesting as I am very computer literate and enjoy working with different Computer system and learning about them.
I also used Microsoft Office on a daily basis including - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email and have great knowledge of them. With the hotel being busy all the time, I have learned to be much organised and to manage time well to get all my shift procedures done during my shift and to manage things that pop up on the way.
Waitress at Mercure Wigan Oak Hotel (2005-10 – 2008)
My job role is varied and apart from being a waitress in the restaurant I also deal with any customer requests, queries or complaints that they may have. It is a busy hotel dealing with all age groups of people with different needs so I feel it's important to be able to communicate on many levels. I wanted to enhance my Professional Development in this area and so I recently completed a course especially dedicated to the communication part of my job which was all about 'Commitment and Excellence' in dealing with customers.
It is a busy hotel so I could have been called upon to attend many different kinds of functions ranging from Weddings, Christmas Birthday and Christening Parties. I feel it to be an essential part of my job to be dressed appropriately and look after myself as the job is demanding and can at times be tiring.
Records Clerk at Leigh Health Centre (2005-01 – 2005-07)
I worked at Leigh Hospital for six months during the Summer Holidays I worked full time 9-5 Monday to Friday. My job involved pulling out patient notes and delivering them to the correct clinics. As all the records were due to go online I took the opportunity while I was there to go on a training course to learn the patient administration system (PAS) to track patients details more accurately, this brought another dimension to the job and I found that really interesting.
Also one day a week I worked on the reception, where I enjoyed the customer facing duties and was also allowed to answer the phone. I enjoy working with the General Public as it enables me to use my skills of reliability, patience and trust. I also felt great satisfaction working as part of a team whose goal was to make sure that each patient got the necessary care and attention from the Doctor's and medical staff.
This was my incentive as I realised they were dependent on me doing my job efficiently.
