Placement - Cub the Modern Nursery - Leeds

During my third and final year at University, I took place in a 4-week placement as part of my course, from this I gained more experience with children aged 2-4 in a private nursery setting. In this setting I gained experience with a child-led approach to learning where the staff were committed to allowing the children to follow their own interests and learning from them. Working in this setting helped my professional development as I experienced a positive working environment with strong leadership and teamwork and this encouraged me to become a positive role model for the children.
Work experience - St. Gilberts RC Primary School

After finishing my second year at University I participated in some more work experience at St. Gilberts where I was for my placement. I helped out in the school nursery where I gained positive relationships with the children and staff and was able to experience daily life in an early years setting where I could see myself working in this kind of setting in the future.

During my second year at University, I took place in a 3-week placement as part of my course, from this I gained more experience with children aged 3-4 in a school nursery setting. In this setting I gained valuable insights into the daily routines of a nursery environment, this also allowed me to practice communication with children and other staff members. This experience also allowed me to build confidence when interacting with the children and the staff.
Placement - three bears nursery - Leeds

During my first year at University, I took place in a 2-week placement as part of my course, from this I gained practical experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a private nursery setting. Observing the children in the nursery setting helped me to understand the importance of early childhood development and individual needs of a child.
Cleaner - A and J cleaning services - Manchester
(2022-10 - 2024-08)
During my time at college, on my days off I would work at A and J cleaning services, which was a paid position, where I would help to clean clients houses, such as hoovering, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens and polishing furniture. I would also do this over my summer off from university. From this experience I gained positive relationships with customers as I was punctual and was trusted in their home.
Volunteer - British Heart Foundation - Leeds

In my spare time away from my studies, I am doing some volunteering at the British Heart Foundation, in this role I have customer experience and experience working on the till and handling money.
Volunteer - Beech Tree Holiday club - Manchester
(2022-04 - 2022-08)
In this position I worked with children with an age range from 3-14 years, I would do activities with them and read with them, and I would supervise them while they were playing whilst keeping their safety in mind. Also, I tried to help them with their emotional needs by consoling them if they were upset. During this time, I would also help other staff members by setting up activities for the children to do and cleaning up after the club had finished.
Volunteer - Salvation Army charity shop - Eccles
(2021-03 - 2021-05)
In this position I worked in the back of the shop organising clothes that had been donated by putting price tags on them and displaying them in the shop. During my time volunteering at the salvation army, I maintained excellent professional relationships with other staff members and communicated with them and assisted them in any way that I could.
