Decontamination Technician - Spire Manchester Hospital

I work as part of a highly skilled team in the Decontamination Department and am responsible for providing effective safe and efficient collection, decontamination (washing, disinfection and sterilisation) and distribution of re-usable medical devices for use in direct patient care with complex specialty demands, including devices of varied design which are of a delicate and valuable nature. I carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, disinfection, reassembly, packing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices recording all processes in the tracking and tracing database. I take delivery of and assess documentation before processing specialist surgical loan instruments for use in complex clinical procedures.
I collect and accept delivery of used equipment from all customers including external agencies. I always work in accordance with the department Standard Operating Procedures and the Quality Management System and adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
Decontamination Technician (Endoscopy Department) - Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, Stepping Hill Hospital

I work as part of a highly skilled team in the HSDU and Endoscopy Decontamination Department and am responsible for providing effective safe and efficient collection, decontamination (washing, disinfection and sterilisation) and distribution of reusable medical devices for use in direct patient care with complex specialty demands, including devices of varied design which are of a delicate and valuable nature. I carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, disinfection, reassembly, packing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices recording all processes in the tracking and tracing database. I reprocess Endoscopes again recording all processes in the tracking and tracing database and I ensure all Endoscopes are placed in a dryer cabinet within 1 hour prior to use.

Decontamination Technician - BMI Hospital Decontamination, Stockport

I work as part of a highly skilled team to pursue the job in hand. There are 5 Different types of rooms in my working environment which I am fully trained to do as part of my role. The first room is the dirty room where dirty used sets come back from operating theatres used on that day and I would then process that set making sure the count is correct according to the tray sheet then it would be put into 1 of 5 washers.
The second room is clean room where sets that are passed through dirty room come out; your job is to assess that try to the best of your ability to make sure everything is clean and correct to the tray sheet and then pack it in sterile wrap to be passed onto the autoclave. You would then carry out scanning each individual set to be processed and to be sterilised at 134°C for use in theatre when required. Fully trained by Olympus in Endoscopy decontamination and sterilisation.
Furniture Production Technician - Smartglide Wardrobes

My role was to work on the Edge Bander on a day-to-day basis. I also produced made-to-measure bedroom furniture such as cupboards, chest of drawers, bookcases, TV stands, top boxes from plans/drawings. I also worked in the Sliding Door Department where I learnt to cut glass from glass sheets.
I then had to cut the door stiles to fit the cut glass from dimensions taken from site measurements and then wrap the final product in protective wrap to prevent damage during transit, marking it with the customer's name and place carefully in the store ready for delivery. Other duties were keeping the area of work clean, loading vans for delivery of bedroom furniture. I also occasionally went out with the Fitting Team to help install our products.
Bench Machinery Operator - Total Kitchen Solutions

My role was to work on bench machinery such as the Edge Bander where I was left to work on my own preparing the Edge Bander for edging cupboards, doors, shelving, etc. I also worked on the Router machine where I rout corners for top and bottom shelves. I was responsible for receiving deliveries daily such as doors, tiles and other materials required for the job in hand.
I have been supervised working on the circular saw cutting rips out of plywood. Other duties included keeping the working area clean, loading vans for delivery of kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. On occasions I also went out with Fitters and gained basic skills in to how our products were installed.
I also dealt with the public who came into the office making enquiries, and over the telephone when my manager had been unable to do so.
Maintenance Team Member - Stockport Grammar School

I worked at Stockport Grammar School working alongside the Maintenance Team preparing classrooms and outside areas for the new school term ensuring a safe and working environment. Some of my roles involved joinery work, labouring and preparation of new equipment. I was left in charge as the Gatekeeper where I had to take telephone calls, ensure security of school entrance, deal with the public and instruct new ground staff to areas of work.
Voluntary Sergeant - St John's Ambulance

I was a Voluntary Sergeant in St John's Ambulance and I lead on first aid training Course. In addition, I am qualified to teach to class to use an AED. This role has given me experience of demonstrating my strong communication skills and organizational skills.
Volunteer - Tameside Animal Shelter
(2013-04 - 2013-04)
As part of my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award I cared for various animals within the shelter. This ranged from feeding the animals, cleaning out their cages and exercising the animals for them to remain healthy and well enough to be taken into a new home.
