6 years experience and a network and telecommunications engineer
20 years as a verification and functional tester on both network rail and London underground
With over 26 years of hands-on experience, I bring a deep understanding of both traditional and modern signalling systems, as well as complex communications networks based on TCP/IP protocols.
My career began at Doncaster Council, where I spent six years as a Network and Communication Engineer responsible for installation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis. My role involved configuring and maintaining TCP/IP-based systems and setting up intelligent network switches to optimize infrastructure performance.
I then joined Network Rail, contributing to a wide range of S&C projects, and gained my IRSE verification and functional tester accreditations. This provided a strong foundation in rail signalling and compliance.
Currently, at London Underground, I have worked on major projects including the Jubilee Line Upgrade, Northern Line enhancements, the 4LM Programme, and the Central Line Life Extension project with Siemens. My responsibilities have consistently included verifying both legacy and modern circuitry, conducting functional testing, and deploying and troubleshooting communications-based networks using advanced switching technology.
I am highly analytical, technically proficient, and safety-focused, with a strong ability to work across multidisciplinary teams. I’m now seeking a new challenge where I can continue to contribute my expertise in network and signalling integration.
