I see farming as the primary human occupation; it is connected to our very essence as sentient beings. It is the activity that allows us to satisfy our most basic needs; by growing, harvesting, and consuming our fruits we retain sovereignty over our own survival.
Having taken some time out in academic study - improving my knowledge of individual and societal psychology - I yearn to be back in contact with the earth, experiencing growing first-hand and connecting with fellow growers and the local community.
My other passion is cooking - being creative and expressive with the fruits of our labour to bring people together through collective experiences. I have varied experience over the years working with food, including a vegan (+ no alium) charity food project “Food for Life”, a charity food bank/cafe at a food pantry in the USA, fast-paced restaurant work as a Chef de Partie, a university campus rice/noodle bar, university barista work, and creating vegeterian and allergen friendly food for friends and family.
