- Sign and complete the inspection stages requirements

- Witness the production of the test coupons, evaluate the results and validate applicable reports
- Verify production test plates, witness mechanical testing and evaluate results
- Verify that approved welding procedures are being used and followed
- Verify pressure test, inspect test gauges, inspect for deformation after pressure test

- Carry out project surveillance inspections as required by client procedures, codes, standards and management
- Read drawings, codes, processes, client requirements, compiling of Data Books and acceptable standards
- Raise non-conformance where deviation to code not adhered to
- Daily feedback on inspection carried out
- Ensure Fabricators and Installers adhere to approved ITP's, drawings, PQR, WPS, code requirements and procedures
- Evaluate the validity and acceptability of fit up's, welds, final inspection and NDT results
- Ensure inspection records are maintained and compiled in the working data books
- Carry out final inspection and release with the third party or client inspector
- Ensure timely and progressive compilation of quality dossier/data books

International Welder Trainee - Eskom Generation

International welder and level 1 QC inspector as required by International Institution of Welding (IIW)
- Welding on boiler pressure tubing on various thickness/materials such as 16Mo3, 13CrMo4-5, 10CrMo9-10 and Carbon steel as per WPS
- Setting up welding parameters, selects consumable materials, and prepares work piece for new welding process trials together with engineering staff
- Assemble components parts using hand and power tools
- Read, analyse and understanding of construction layout drawing prior to welding
- Maintain arc length and speed of movement to form specific depth of fusion and bead
- Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld or grind parts prior to welding
- Change hoses, fittings, air valves, grinding discs, suspension parts etc
- Assisting qualified Welders in assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings, fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications
