Trainee Elecetrician
Send a job offer directly to this candidate
I am currently in the process of retraining to become a qualified Electrician. I am six months into my course with Access Training and am due to take my first round of exams in October.
I am looking for a role as an Electricians Mate/Trainee to gain firsthand experience and learn from industry experts on the job. I have passed my ECS HS & E and am looking for an employer who could offer me JIB sponsorship to gain my ECS Trainee Card.
My previous career was as a Sustainability Manager for an FMCG business but found the Office Based 9-5 no longer fit with my way of life and require a more practical hands-on career that still delivers on my desire to improve the sustainability of our way of life. My previous role gave me significant experience communicating with and persuading Board level management of the business benefit of the sustainability initiatives I successfully proposed and further developed my problem solving and communication approaches. Prior to this work in the Category team with the buyers of the UKs major retailers to develop fixtures that deliver for consumers through data driven insights understanding consumer needs both current and in the future.
During my time as Sustainability Manager I conducted numerous site visits and Audits of our manufacturing partners so do have experience of factory and warehousing environments. As well as project managing the delivery of cost and packaging material reduction initiatives with multiple partners. I am also First Aid and Fire Marshall trained, albeit in an office and outdoor environment.
Outside of work I am also an Explorer Scout Leader running Bury & Ramsbottom’s largest unit, teaching Skills for life to our young people and giving them experiences to set them up for life. While these may feel a far cry from work in the electrical industry, my problem solving, sustainability and consumer centric background provide me with the softer skills to work effectively for a business such as yours.
SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER, ALL ABOUT FOOD LTD.
MAY 2021 - MARCH 2023
Following the permanent move to the operations team I then began implementing the Sustainability Policy which focused on three key areas. Firstly, understanding our Carbon baseline across Scope 1, 2 & 3 and developing a reduction strategy leading to an SBTi approved Net Zero strategy. Secondly, managing material reduction projects to reduce our total footprint while also delivering financial savings to mitigate against sharp rises in commodity prices.
Finally, through collaboration with external partners; brand owners, manufacturers, retailers, consumers and wider stakeholders. Initially through a materiality impact assessment and then on-going engagement providing support, retail industry knowledge and guidance.
SPLIT SUSTAINABILITY & CATEGORY ANALYST ROLE, ALL ABOUT FOOD LTD.
SEPTEMBER 2020 – MAY 2021
Following completion of my AIEMA exam in May 2020 I successfully presented the business need for a Sustainability role within AAF to the leadership team and began a split 1:4 the 2:3 role across both category and sustainability. This gave the opportunity to draw up the business’ first Sustainability Strategy, highlighting short term opportunities while continuing with my role as a Category Analyst passing on my knowledge to new graduates in the team.
CATEGORY ANALYST, ALL ABOUT FOOD LTD.
DECEMBER 2017 – MAY 2021
My first post university role as a Category Analyst provided me with a great opportunity to develop my commercial acumen. Using large datasets to build compelling stories for our Brand and Sales teams while also fostering strong relationships with external Brand, Retail and supply partners. Working as part of a small but high functioning team to land category wide merchandising recommendations and add true value and differentiation for consumers.
