Shelf Stacker and Food Service Assistant at Sainsbury's (2026-06 – Present)
During my time at Sainsbury's I fulfilled the role of a shelf stacker and a food service assistant. Through shelf stacking I learned how to organize merchandise effectively, ensuring correct placement and that every item was stocked in time. It also provided many opportunities to assist with customer queries such as locating items or reaching products.
I was also given the chance to train up on the hot food counter where I am tasked with preparing food and ensuring it's up to food hygiene standards, this role also exercises my time management skills as there are set times for cooking and how long the products can be on the shelf for. Furthermore I ensure no cross contamination of food occurs to prevent sickness or allergic reactions and always follow the correct health and safety regulations, for example, wearing the correct PPE. I have developed strong team-working skills through my time at Sainsbury's.
Working collaboratively in teams has taught me how to communicate effectively, listen to others' ideas, and contribute to shared goals. In particular, I've learned how to divide tasks based on each team member's strengths, provide constructive feedback, and resolve any conflicts in a positive manner.
