I am very well organised, punctual and extremely efficient with meeting deadlines through using initiative and good communication and prioritising accordingly. I am able to reflect on and analyse my own work, monitoring where I could improve and what I could do differently for the best possible outcomes for patients and the team/service as a whole. I am always willing to learn and love new opportunities to develop and improve work wherever possible.
I recognise my own limits and work within these ensuring I am 100% competent in all that I do putting safety first at all times. If a case arises where I am unsure I approach relevant senior staff members for advice in order to be sure and competent with work at all times. I use resources efficiently and effectively ensuring they are maintained and not overused or misused.
I have previously encouraged my team to do the same with all resources. I have a passion for encouraging and teaching others. On many occasions I would induct and train new staff nurses and I witnessed their confidence develop as I supported and encouraged them.
I also mentored a student nurse whilst at Homerton during a period I was training to become a mentor. I understand my own knowledge and skills and identity my learning needs and interests and work on developing these areas through extra training and practice. I believe I am right for this job role and would make a difference to the service. I give exceptional quality of care and work and adapt well with teams as well as working well independently. I have experience of co ordinating the busy endoscopy unit over the years.
