I started my career with H&M 14 years ago in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, quickly adapting to the challenge of working in such an energetic store and fast paced environment. Within two years I progressed to Department Manager and then became Store Manager in Durham in 2014. Having worked in both big and small stores, I understand the differences and challenges faced, and find this knowledge invaluable when it comes to fast decision making and turnaround.
As a motivated and enthusiastic individual with an extensive knowledge in driving profit whilst maintaining a strong brand experience, I believe I have the leadership experience and skills to succeed. Working as a Store Manager has taught me to deliver strong results whilst building and developing a highly motivated and skilled team with a strong feedback culture. Furthermore, it has developed my skills and ability to create a positive working environment where employees feel valued and empowered to grow within their role.
I am a highly-motivated individual with 14 years’ experience working in fashion retail. The last 12 of these as a Department Manager and then Store Manager. I am highly driven in my personal and work life and have achieved success in both.
I have excellent people skills and enjoy developing myself and others. I have experience in a wide range of areas including customer service, stock control, logistics, loss prevention, recruitment, training, delivering quality feedback, Human Resource procedures, employee relations and Health and Safety.
For the last 6 years I have successfully ran a 1.6 million turnover store in which I have achieved sales and profit goals, implemented efficient ways of working, supported team development, delivered quality training and created a fair and diverse working environment. During my time as Store Manager I have adopted Lean techniques into specific areas of the business which I credit to the store’s success and continuous improvement. Through implementing strong leadership skills, I have been able to achieve sales goals, drive efficiency and eliminate unnecessary costs without compromising the quality of our customer experience.
