My role at Fermionx is to perform a combination of duties for the assembly of electronic components onto printed circuit boards according to specification. This includes tasks such as:
- Reading worksheets, wiring diagrams or following a sample board to determine assembly duties.
- Selecting components such as transistors, resistors relay and capacitors and positioning them with correct polarity.
- Twist, bend, trim, or file leads of components or ream holes into boards to insert wire leads.
- Place plastic insulation sleeves around specified wire leads of components and shrink sleeves into place using a shrink gun.
- Apply sealer or masking compound to select parts of board to protect those parts from the wave solder process.
- Install heat sinks, sockets, faceplate and accessories onto board.
- Provide hands on job function training to co-workers and assist other workers in wave soldering PCBs as required.
- Using a Mascot placing components ready for soldering
