I qualified as a teacher and earned 2 further teaching qualifications in 2017, drawing on my experience in presentation skills and organisational development.
I have been a teacher of English for 6 years, mostly in Italy, but also in Poland and now currently near Edinburgh in the UK.
Previously, I worked in the UK and France as a technical and compliance specialist in the public sector, and in the recycling and environment fields.
I teach a variety of learners of all levels and ages, including exam preparation, groups, outdoor activities, general and business English. I have experience teaching in energy, oil and gas companies, in tourism, banking and finance, sales and marketing, retail, hospitality, legal, cosmetics, and media and sports companies.
I believe in building a good relationship and delivering fresh and stimulating lessons, to help learners feel inspired and more confident in their English. I have a warm, open and friendly manner that puts learners at ease, gains trust, and gives them the confidence to speak more fluently and accurately together.
I gained a CertTESOL in late 2017 and have passed other accredited, internationally recognised TEFL qualifications. I have completed contracts in Italy serving a range of learners including one on one tuition, skills based large group courses in multiple industry and commerce sectors, school age students (Starters, Movers and Flyers) and exam preparation classes (Cambridge PET, KFS, FCE and CAE). I also have experience of delivering CLIL in these roles.
I previously taught in-house business professionals in a large oil and gas company in Italy after completing contracts in Milan and Le Marche, teaching clients in the corporate sector (particularly travel and tourism, sales and marketing, retail and hospitality, banking and finance, legal, cosmetics and media and sports) and for general English purposes. I am currently continuing teaching hours on a freelance basis for corporate professionals in the legal and tax sectors.
I was also a teacher on a Summer School position that delivered stimulating and communicative indoor and outdoor language learning for junior students preparing for Trinity exams (A2-C1).
I continue to volunteer my time to teach English to foreign Nationals, including speaking at a Refugee Centre and visiting Poland to participate in English language ‘immersion programmes’, where I improve confidence in English speaking skills to professional clients who need to communicate effectively for networking and business purposes.
Before changing career to TEFL, I worked in a variety of industry, business and public sector roles where I instructed, mentored and instructed across all levels and improved delivery of learning standards and outcomes. I am currently in the UK, and immediately.
