Data Scientist who is enthusiastic about working with data, visualizing them, presenting them then developing creative models for scheduling, classification, and prediction. I worked in different research institutes including operation research tasks and computer vision tasks.
During my master's degree, I worked in different research institutes as a student research assistant in order to improve my research skills in the field of artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning. Last year was a challenging year as I tried to prove to myself that I am capable of working in two research institutes at the same time, surprisingly I did it and succeeded. I was working also as a student research assistant in another research institute called the " Center for Applied Data Science Gütersloh".
I applied different metaheuristics algorithms such as genetics algorithms, tabu search and simulated annealing to optimization problems such as flexible job shop problems. Showing my competence and dedication, I was able to get promoted to a full-time research associate Besides submitting a paper to a well-known journal (International Journal of Production Research). Currently, this paper is in the peer review stage.
The paper solves the duel resource flexible job shop problem using metaheuristics and reinforcement learning algorithms. I had to investigate raw real world data from a production industry and create a bench mark for training similar to extended Brandimarte benchmark instances.
In the meanwhile, I had my internship to work on my computer vision master's thesis at a very famous German research institute called Fraunhofer institute. The main idea behind the thesis is Face recognition attack detection in biometrics. The idea behind this research was to try contrastive learning to detect attacks as an unsupervised learning approach. I got awarded a scholarship from DAAD twice which is a well-known funding organization to fund my thesis.
Besides working in research institutes this year and last year, I thought of passing the knowledge I have to others. I started volunteering as a python instructor in an organization to support women in coding and programming careers. Additionally, I started writing medium blogs to explain and summarise papers to make it easier for others to understand.
Moreover, I worked previously as a student research assistant in another branch of the Fraunhofer institute as a system and software engineer with a focus on intelligent systems. Furthermore, I had an internship in Microsoft app factory as a technical evangelist representing Microsoft in their events and presenting their technologies including hololens. On top of my university studies and my work, I deepened my deep learning and computer vision knowledge with practical knowledge and projects using pytorch framework by graduating with two nanodegrees from Udacitiy.
My academic records show my dedication to my studies and show that I always strive to be the best. I graduated with the highest grade among my colleagues with a GPA of 3.91 holding a scholarship from my university the whole time I was studying. Moreover, I volunteered to be an IEEE student member to encourage working on scientific projects besides volunteering as a student member of the student union.
