Position: O&M Senior Legal and Contracts Advisor

• Advising the Contracts Team on drafting, negotiating and managing different types of contracts in various jurisdictions. 
• Leading the drafting, review and negotiation of Operation and Maintenance and Balance of Plant contracts.
• Supporting the strategy to acquire leases, market routes and the required consents and licenses needed for offshore projects. 
• Providing legal training on liabilities, warranties, IPR clauses etc. to commercial and nonlegal manager. 
• Supporting project managers to anticipate and manage claims, variations and commercial matters with contractors.

• Day to day management of the Operation and Maintenance Agreement for the Wikinger project in Germany. 
• Identified and notified to internal and external stakeholders of the contractual or commercial risks and impacts of any potential claims/ issues to the contract. 
• Supported the project managers by managing claims and variations with SMA contractors. 
• Ensured the company’s best practices and processes are implemented and applied in contract management ensuring involvement and interfacing with key company functions such as insurance, financial and legal.
• Managed the review and negotiations of claims and liaised with external and internal legal advisors.

• Sole counsel role provided advice and support to the Board of Directors in areas of commercial and construction law and corporate governance.
• Negotiated, drafted and reviewed the turbines’ Supply Agreement (TSA) with the company’s German and European supplier, and reviewed the Service and Maintenance Agreements (SMA) and ensured alignment between both agreements. 
• Overall contractual management responsibility for the lifecycle of contracts from inception (request to tender) to tendering, providing legal advice and resolving issues post–signature within the contract’s time and budget.
• Successfully negotiated complex and high value contracts for the UK, USA and UAE including Operation and Maintenance Agreements (O&M), Framework, Consultancy, Teaming, Long Term Agreements, Construction and Engineering related contracts (JCT, NEC3, FIDIC etc.) as well as contracts in the Renewable Energy industry.
• Planned projects and ensured they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the scheme without delays and within the contract’s budget. 
• Acted as the customer's key point of contact for all contractual matters.
• Supervised commercial plans and end of life forecast is in place and monitored monthly for the successful commercial delivery of the project.
• Managed contract negotiation and concluded legal and commercial contracts in excess of £13M. 
• Liaised with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
• Provided legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management.
• Formulated compliance check-lists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly.
• Created and implemented contract templates, processes, and tools and designed and delivered training programmes for up to 50 employees to measurably improve performance, quality, and best practices of the contracts.
