I have been a Barber and hairdresser for almost 30 years, since 17, I'm 48 now. I trained in both at Stock Albany hair and Beauty Academy, then five years later I did my NVQL3, at Melton College, A few years later on I trained in TAQA , units one and two.
I have gone from junior stylist, where I started at the cutting room Market Harborough, then my Assessor got me into the company of GI's, I learnt my barbering and shaving, a very high paced busy shop…also in the same town, I also did a beauty course at Tresham college NVQL2. I wanted to learn all areas in tis as I wanted to be highly creative and understand hair and skin well.
After having my 3 children, I open a business for gents and ladies, at home with the support of the Princess trust and ran a successful and popular business from home for fours, I then moved home and went in to training and assessing students for National Hair and beauty institute for year, but they moved to Birmingham, I went to then work at City Barbers Leicester, then managed Every man barbers in Leicester city centre, these then closed there shop as retiring, so I open my own barbers and ladies shop in Melton Mowbray, area in a rural and since got a second Barber shop , in the town. During my time here i have been training apprentices and going to various colleges, Melton, Loughborough, Leicester to give master classes to students, as I am a Ambassador for Kenchi blades, Japanese steal scissors company.
