Reliable and motivated team player.
I consistently demonstrate high clinical standards evidenced through my ability to confidently assess and accurately interpret vascular, neurological and musculoskeletal investigations to structure and tailor bespoke treatment plans to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
I am competent in the administration of local anaesthesia and passed the pharmacology assessment for POM-S with 88% (exemplary). Upon graduation, I will be registered with HCPC and currently have a student membership with the Royal College of Podiatry.
I am proud to consistently apply proactive health-conscious practices that align with my natural dedication to putting people at the heart of everything I do.
To advance my assessment and diagnostic skills across a wide scope of conditions, I ensure dedicated time for professional strengthening in areas beyond my daily practice. To enhance diabetes care, I have completed an online Certificate in Diabetic Foot Screening, accredited by NHS Scotland and regularly use Diabetes UK to refresh my knowledge as well as signposting patients for advice and support where appropriate. Reflection is another way I integrate CPD into refining clinical skills, specifically employing Gibbs’ cycle of reflection to identify barriers in quality care and enabling me to actively seek solutions in which these barriers can be removed.
I have actively developed leadership abilities and a commitment to innovative problem-solving through varied roles. As a year representative, I bridge communication between fellow students and staff by gathering peer feedback, ideas, and concerns to maximise satisfaction and well-being. These skills were improved further when I became the Communications Officer for the Royal College of Podiatry’s Student Network, creating an open, supportive forum for Podiatry students as well as sharing content online to promote this vital yet often overlooked vocation.
On external placements, I have acted independently, with supervisors commenting on my professional approach to challenging situations and conversations. I seek feedback and I am frequently told my enthusiasm, flexible approach and can-do nature are refreshing. I enjoy making a difference in people's lives and always encourage others to do the same.
