I am a qualified and educated individual with a wealth of experience and skills, I am inspired to develop my career and explore exciting opportunities. Having studied what I love and graduated from Writtle University College with Cycling Performance FdSc and Sports Performance BSc (Hons), I am excited to use my learned skills, to be part of positive movements and innovations, and develop new skills along the way.
I have over a years' experience working in the fitness industry as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. I also have multiple years of experience in hospitality and the removal and building trades. I have been working as a delivery driver for Waitose and Partners for 6 months.
Studying a course as specific to my interest as Cycling Performance was amazing – I developed an understanding of sport science in the cycling setting and completed projects that I wanted to do. In my second year, I completed an independent ‘working in cycling’ project that looked at the potential of cycling as an eco-friendly mode of transport that involved liaising with Colchester Borough Council and Essex Highways. I also began work as a student sport ambassador which involved doing taster sessions and talks about sport science.
I decided to continue my studies with the sport performance BSc degree. This involved more independent study and I completed my dissertation project on the effect of post-activation potentiation (PAP) warm-ups in a cycling setting. This involved performing statistical analyses of multiple data sets and aspects of project management, and exemplary critical writing.
I also completed projects and studied important topics including psychology and exercise prescription for vulnerable populations and for populations with health conditions.
