At my most recent job that I am still currently employed with, I am the engagement assistant at a day centre supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health and challenging behaviour, we are based in centre and out in the community always supporting them with making choices, daily activities, having fun and supported them to live life to the full always showing respect and treating them with dignity at all times always giving the individuals I support choice and respect. Always updating care plans having regular reviews and team meetings to keep the service to a high standard.

At previous job with Greenwich Mencap where I worked there for 12 years and my role was supporting adults with learning disabilities, with active engagement in the community and in a day centre environment, being personal centred is key. I supported individuals in the community, supporting them to be independent, & making there own choices. Finding different activities in the community for them to participate in, encouraging them to reach there full potential, helping them build there confidence in creative activities.
I have key worked service users and have updated care plans working very closely with parents and carers, my roll was a activity coordinator, organising day activities in the community (e.g. dance class, coffee mornings for carers, drama group session and evening activity's like bowling, bingo, meals out and cinema nights). I also organised once a month a parents and carers trips taking them out to the seaside (I drove in a minibus). I've also supported individuals on a one to one basis out in the community to engage in different activity's of their choice.
I've also done travel training with service users.
