I have previously worked in the construction supply industry prior to my career change. I worked for 25 years in this industry setting, working my way up to Branch manager/Accounts manager having previously been the warehouse manager. Here I was constantly under pressure to reduce costs and increase profit and turnover and meet customer deadlines/orders.

I have always created a great team morale and a great working environment. I am used to working with/alongside large plant machinery and I am very aware of Health and Safety procedures having attained my IOSH Working Safely qualification. My branches always received an excellent audit with regards to Health and Safety and Fire Safety.

I transferred into the education sector and as of 2019 I was the Operations/site manager at Linton School in Freckleton. I advise other schools on how to manage their Health and Safety procedures to meet OFSTED requirements. I worked across several schools and homes for a period of time supporting in Health and Safety, recruitment, policies, behaviour management, financial planning, PEP meetings, Safeguarding meetings, risk assessment writing etc.

I also maintained the site with plumbing, simple joinery, repairing windows and fencing, painting, plumbing repairs and guttering. I am currently site manager at another Care-Tech school in Ribchester. I am responsible for the entire site of three care homes and one school and two large mothballed homes, and 22 acres of land.

I have introduced new ways of working and monitoring safety checks, including Legionella and fire safety. I am working with outside contractors continuously, organising repairs and refits and managing their work. I am also responsible for day to day repairs and projects this includes – Painting and decorating, plumbing repairs, kitchen installs – (excluding worktops) tiling, plastering, glazing, fire doors, guttering and groundswork

Branch Manager at Holdex Plywood Ltd. (1991-12 – 2016-08)

Rose from an office junior to branch manager. Full control of the branch increasing turnover from 1.5 million to 7.5 million. Health and Safety, account preparation and reconciliation, sales, stock control, staffing, site maintenance and budgets were all overseen by myself.
