A Senior Business Leader with experience of ensuring the efficient delivery of complex training solutions. Adept at starting and building new businesses through a combination of leadership, a strategic approach, and a commercial outlook that ensures profitability. Highly customer-centric and responsive to market demands, whilst building relationships and engendering employee engagement to drive the business forward.
Passionate about helping learners achieve their full potential through the acquisition of new skills.
After an early career in banking I moved into training. Initially this was training employees in the financial services industry, but it branched off into training other professionals including accountants, financial analysts, and lawyers. My last two roles have involved training apprentices and this is now my passion. It is great to see the impact that this can have on both new entrants to the organisation and to existing staff.
As Managing Director of Capital City College Training I was responsible for the delivery of the largest apprenticeship business in London. This has been complemented by my experience at Alpha Development where I have established the apprenticeship offering from the very beginning. This has involved getting into the detail of every aspect of apprenticeships.
This has included writing policies, submitting the ILR, understanding the ESFA's accountability framework, having a thorough understanding of the apprenticeship funding rules (and each year's changes), being prepared for an Ofsted inspection, and having a rigorous Self-Assessment Review and Quality Improvement Plan.
