I’m Petra Olutunfese, a recent law graduate from the University of Leeds, where I developed a strong interest in commercial and company law. Throughout my academic journey, I immersed myself in understanding how law impacts the business world, excelling in key subjects and building a foundation I’m eager to apply practically.

During my time at university, I had the opportunity to lead as a WIT Assistant, organising Welcome Week for over 200 law students and coordinating events that increased student engagement and positive feedback. This role taught me the value of planning, adaptability, and inclusive leadership. My time as Secretary for the Leeds Street Dance Society allowed me to blend my creative skills with project management, securing sponsorships, redesigning our social media platforms, and driving a 40% increase in participation in our showcase events.

Professionally, I worked as a Key Worker and Store Host at Dunelm, where I exceeded sales targets and built strong customer relationships through personalised consultations. My experience here strengthened my problem-solving and communication skills, which are crucial in client-focused environments.

I also mentored black first-year students through Flourished Minds, providing support and guidance to help them navigate academic and personal challenges. Mentorship has been deeply rewarding, as I’ve seen firsthand how practical advice and encouragement can make a meaningful impact.

I’m passionate about continuing my growth in a forward-thinking team where I can contribute fresh perspectives, learn from experienced professionals, and deepen my understanding of the corporate field.
