I have recently graduated University with a degree in English Literature, and intend to continue my masters in History after a years work in industry.
I have a few areas of history that particularly interest me: Egyptology, Victorian literature, World Wars I and II, and Religious history. I have conducted research into the connections between War and religious imagery, using the poetry produced by those in the trenches and the imagery depicted in Christian Scripture.
My exploration of War and Religion lead me to decide that I would like to further my research into religious texts. I chose to focus on the representation of women in Biblical literature, as well as the impact of women in society due to images of sin, weakness and obedience to man. Consequently, I analysed ancient texts from library sources such as the Nag Hammadi library, St Paul’s letters and The Malleus Malificarum.
I am interested in finding a position concerned with heritage, which could involve archiving, research or record keeping.
