For many years, I was an artistic gymnast and was lucky enough to represent my club in competitions across Scotland. Gymnastics taught me self-discipline and the importance of staying focussed. Although it is an individual sport, I thrive in team settings, enjoying both listening and sharing ideas with others.
Leading warm-up stretches helped me gain confidence in communicating with older and younger gymnasts. I am extremely hard working and always push to improve in whatever I am working towards.
Work Experience - LA Physiotherapy
During my fourth year of high school, I gained a week of work experience at LA Physiotherapy. I observed various consultations at the clinic, which I found extremely interesting. I really enjoyed my time there, and it has left me curious learn more about what it's like to be a physiotherapist.
Events Staff - Studio Two Six One - Art Gallery
During the winter and summer holidays I worked events at Studio Two Six One, a local art gallery. I was responsible for dealing and handling with payments as well as chatting to members of the public and assisting them with anything they needed.
Childcare Support Worker - Mearns After School Care (MACS)
For the last eight months, I gained valuable life and teaching skills from working with kids, I also learned great teamwork and communication skills by working as part of a team. I was responsible for supervising and supporting children aged 4 - 11. I also have experience in working with ASN (additional support needs) children through helping children from Isobel Mair, this taught me how to adapt to different children's learning abilities, which helped me gain a greater understanding of learning and how to look after kids and teach them in different ways.
