I am a reliable and responsible person who is able to manage time effectively. I would also describe myself as being enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible together with being sensitive, respectful, and open minded to the values and attitudes of others. I think that I work effectively in a team by listening, supporting and helping other members and also think I that I have the ability to motivate others.
I am able to communicate efficiently and effectively with people at all levels. Given how positively children and adults respond to me, I would describe myself as a person with very good interpersonal skills. Prior to having my daughters, one of my jobs was site office manager on a construction site where I was required to keep the office in shipshape condition with documents in their correct places so that the site was organised.
I have also worked in a variety of different jobs throughout my life all experience of which contribute to my varied foundation of skills, attributes, and abilities. Additionally, in 2014/2015, I created a petition campaign called "Does it take a death to make it happen?" and I fought to get the pedestrian crossing on Pendleton Road, Redhill in order that my eldest daughter (and later my youngest) could safely and independently walk to school and of course, the rest of the local community could too! I had to present my petition to the local committee in Reigate Town Hall.
It was agreed that crossing would be installed just past Abinger Drive on Pendleton Road. This was a major achievement for me and for the community. This was all done as a result of people power, the Council never properly responded to the need for this important community resource.
The people succeeded, where the council failed us previously. I think this demonstrates that I am a person who can get things done. The campaign was totally out of my comfort zone and I had never done anything like it before.
However, I succeeded where many others had failed. In summary, I feel very passionate about helping supporting and building up the lives of all children particularly those with SEND needs. I am completely committed to helping these children to progress so that by the time they leave school, they have gained personal, social and academic successes.
