I’ve recently finished my Masters in Architecture and am looking to start a part 1 Architectural Assistant role. I have gained a lot of experience at my time at University and improved my skills as a designer some of my software skills include Revit, Auto CAD and Photoshop. I decided to pursue Architecture as I learnt Architecture expresses our humanity; the earth becomes humanities collective painting.
As I've become more conscious in this, I want to be active in the progression of creating spaces that help humans feel valued, to be in a space and be understood. To use the environment and community in a way where they sustain and thrive simultaneously, designing architecture that helps the community grow alongside utilizing what it has to offer.
I think I would be a great asset to the company as I believe some of my strengths are my self-awareness, honesty and endurance. I believe my self-awareness helps me understand areas I struggle in and seek improvement whether this is on a professional or personal level; undoubtedly helping me in my self-improvement - I consider myself a curious individual and am always excited to learn new things and think critically. My honesty not only helps me become a helpful individual to others but also encourages me push my ideas and creativity forward and also guides me in areas where I need to make difficult decisions.
My level of endurance has helped me overcome difficult challenges however, I see these challenges as positive opportunities to grow and that's what's happened, one of my favourite quotes is by Franklin D. Roosevelt - A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.
My exposure to different customers has shaped my understanding of how flexible I have to be in different environments and the needs of each person and thus different ideas, and I believe this is a skill I can take forth in designing as I understand human behaviour better. As a result I can speak to a client in a way where I can meet their needs and offer a high quality service. Being an aspiring architect I’ve learnt the relationship between the client is the most important with integrity, honesty and competence at the foundation of it.
